Yanua Kitchen

Yanua Kitchen grew from Nemika Brunton’s response to the collapse in tourism during COVID-19. TDi’s 2020 case study describes starting with four jars of pomelo jam, selling them through Facebook and building demand from there.

Seasonal produce and a place called home.

Seasonal local produce shaped the business: pomelos came from nearby farmers, and trials included starfruit jam and peanut butter. The name Yanua refers to home or village in Suau. This is a dated account of the business’s beginnings, with current products and ordering arrangements still to be confirmed.
